Now Hiring A Porter
Lone Star Bavarian is looking for a porter to join our team.
What does a porter do?
- Washing and vacuuming BMW, Mini, Audi, Mercedes, Bentley and Rolls Royce Automobiles
- Shuttling clients home and back to Lone Star Bavarian throughout the day.
- Checking vehicles in when they arrive
- Taking out the trash
- General cleaning throughout the facility
- Running an automated floor machine
- Assisting technicians to help make their run smoothly.
- Picking up parts at various dealerships, vendors etc.
- And misc duties throughout the day to keep Lone Star Bavarian running smoothly.
What qualifies one to be a porter?
- Must be at least 18 and have a drivers license.
- Must have a clean driving record with no accidents or moving violation on your record.
- Must have your own transportation.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8 am through 5 pm.
- Must have a good attitude, be presentable, like people and have attention to detail.
- Must be willing to have a good time while working.
- Must be able to be on your feet all day.
What do we give in return?
- Pay starts at $15 an hour.
- We will provide a uniform for hot and cool days.
- We give a footwear allowance.
- A good time.
It is worth noting that our porter position can be a springboard into more challenging higher paying jobs that pay a very substantial increase. Our leading tech who makes 6 figures annually started here as a porter many years ago. We have groomed many porters into technicians here and many have gone onto positions at dealerships, other independent shops and at least one went onto later start his own shop. We have had porters also become service advisors here also making approaching 6 figures and one that is now a programmer at a shop management software company. Our goal is to always promote from within we have talent that is stagnating when we can and when we can’t we help staff move into higher paying positions elsewhere in the industry when we can’t. There are no dead end jobs here and your future is important to us.
